copy and paste it in a notepad
and save the file as snodes.dat on your desktop

then close ares and paste this file to

C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ares\Data

replace the file and open ares ...it will connect under 10 seconds

well it's work but..
your computer need to be reboot after the changes made to the file. - i don't why need to do that.

mine connected in about 5 minutes.

PS - i still try try to get Ares Connect - look see http://aresconnect.com/, but somehow the installer cant be reach.

guys, be a little patient after doing this..... restart ur comp. and then wait for 4-5 min.... if still it doesnt work, then search for cnodes.dat .......and

For Vista
place the file here.

What do you mean replace the file? I pasted the snodes.dat notepad document (from the desktop) into the Ares data file you explained, but what do you mean by "replace" the file?

Scratch that last comment, I wasn't pasting it in the right folder, so I obviously wasn't seeing the duplicate file. I did restart my computer, and it's still not really working- I also put in a proxy address in Ares- help!

ok I have found the right solution that works,I use ares ver 209.3030 with win xp sp3, just install the new ares 316.3040 but install to your documents folder not the default folder after installation start the new ares and you will be connected now try to d/l music it will tell you to register and activate now shut down the new ares and delete the desktop short cut, now open your old ares 209.3030 and your connected wow it now looks like the new ver but is the old 209.3030
